Biological Waste Supplies Request

Use this section to request biological waste supplies (e.g., biohazard bags, sharps containers, secondary containment, or other approved materials).

Requests should align with laboratory activities and current biological waste streams (e.g., BSL-1, BSL-2, or BSL-3 materials). All supplies must be used in accordance with institutional biosafety and waste management procedures.

If you are unsure what supplies are required, please contact EH&S for guidance before submitting your request.

  • Bench Top Keepers (Large)

Bench-top pipet keepers are compact containers designed for the convenient, at-the-workstation collection of used pipets or pipette tips during laboratory procedures. They help maintain a clean and organized workspace while minimizing exposure to biological or chemical residues by containing contaminated, non-sharp waste at the point of use. These containers serve as a temporary holding solution, allowing for easy transfer of contents to larger biohazard or waste containers for final disposal in accordance with laboratory safety protocols.

  • Bench Top Keepers (Small)

Bench-top pipet keepers are compact containers designed for the convenient, at-the-workstation collection of used pipets or pipette tips during laboratory procedures. They help maintain a clean and organized workspace while minimizing exposure to biological or chemical residues by containing contaminated, non-sharp waste at the point of use. These containers serve as a temporary holding solution, allowing for easy transfer of contents to larger biohazard or waste containers for final disposal in accordance with laboratory safety protocols.

  • Biohazard Bags 14x19

Most common used for carcasses. Heat-resistant biohazard bags for step-on biobins, designed for autoclaving contaminated, non-sharp lab waste. Clearly labeled for compliance. Most commonly used for carcasses. Requested by roll. Each roll includes 20 bags.

  • Biohazard Bags 18x12 by roll

Heat-resistant biohazard bags for step-on biobins, designed for autoclaving contaminated, non-sharp lab waste. Clearly labeled for compliance. Each roll includes 20 bags. Requested by roll

  • Biohazard Bags 19x23 by roll

Heat-resistant biohazard bags for step-on biobins, designed for autoclaving contaminated, non-sharp lab waste. Clearly labeled for compliance. Each roll includes 20 bags. Capacity 7-10 gal. Request by roll

  • Biohazard Bags 31x38 (by roll)

This is the most common size for your step on biobins with a capacity of 20-30 gal. Clearly labeled for complianc. Each roll includes 10 bags.

  • Biohazard Pipet Keeper

A biohazard pipet keeper is used for the safe collection and disposal of contaminated pipets (glass or plastic) and other non-sharp laboratory waste. It is not intended for sharps such as needles or blades, which must be disposed of in designated sharps containers. Typically constructed from sturdy cardboard or paperboard, the container is clearly marked with biohazard symbols to ensure proper identification. It features flaps or locking tops that securely contain contents while allowing easy use. After use, the container can often be autoclaved and then disposed of in accordance with applicable biohazard waste regulations.
